ABOUT THE ROLE

ALX Ethiopia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Creative Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathers social media, loves capturing life’s moments, and is ready to tell our story in innovative ways. We are looking for someone who is not just capable but genuinely excited to engage our audience around the clock, including weekends, particularly during our bustling hub events.

The Creative Marketing Coordinator’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Strategy and Planning

  • Developing and executing comprehensive campaigns that masterfully blend digital and traditional marketing approaches, effectively engaging Gen Z audiences and beyond
  • Crafting integrated marketing strategies that effectively unify and amplify the messaging across our different functions (hub operations, community experience, recruitment)
  • Creating a marketing calendar that captures the vibrancy of our everyday happenings, including on weekends, across all platforms
  • Adapting strategies based on current marketing trends and generational preferences, and embracing emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance our overall marketing strategy

Content Creation and Branding

  • Crafting compelling stories from daily interactions and moments, showcasing the essence of our work across digital and traditional media
  • Producing visually appealing social media assets and traditional marketing materials, utilizing photography and graphic design capabilities
  • Continuously innovating and experimenting with creative ways to boost engagement and brand visibility across all marketing channels
  • Ensuring all contents posted is polished, engaging, and consistently aligned with our brand guidelines

Social Media Channel Management

  • Oversee and manage ALX Ethiopia's presence on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Telegram, LinkedIn), ensuring cohesive and impactful brand visibility
  • Develop and publish diverse and engaging content formats, such as text posts, images, and videos, tailored for each platform to engage and grow our community

Engagement and Community Management

  • Actively engaging with our online community and extending this engagement to offline initiatives and events
  • Building a substantial following by effectively communicating the essence of our work, both online and through traditional community-building activities

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Collaborating with teams across various departments, ensuring alignment and synergy in our online and offline activities
  • Managing relationships with external agencies and vendors to enhance our marketing footprint

Analysis and Reporting

  • Regularly analysing and reporting on campaign performances and social media metrics, adapting strategies to maximize impact and reach

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience & Education: minimum three years in marketing and communications. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field with an excellent academic record.
  • Marketing Skills: demonstrable experience in both social media and traditional marketing campaigns. Strong proficiency in digital marketing with a passion for staying ahead of trends and technological advancements.
  • Language Proficiency: fluent in English and Amharic, both verbal and written. Knowledge of other local languages is a plus
  • Social Media Expertise: must be an avid social media user, adept at engaging Gen Z and other audiences, with a finger on the pulse of current trends.
  • Communication Skills: excellent communication and presentation abilities. Ability to narrate compelling stories and create engaging content.
  • Technical Skills: proficient in various marketing tools, including analytics tools, CRM systems, content management systems, and WordPress. Skills in photography, video editing, and graphic design are highly desirable.
  • Work Ethic: ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Must be willing to work flexibly, including availability during weekends.
  • Organisational Skills: strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Creativity & Passion: innate creative flair for storytelling, content creation, and a deep-rooted passion for marketing and continuous learning.
