ABOUT THE DATA TEAM

Companies around the world are clamoring to find talent with skills in software engineering, data science, UX/UI design, software architecture, business intelligence, cyber security, cloud computing, Internet of Things, product management, and other skills that can enable the rapidly accelerating digital transformation. The Room is solving this challenge by creating a new supply of diverse, world-class technology talent and matching this talent to global companies that need it.

Our method is simple: (i) select the best emerging talent from the world’s largest pool of untapped talent: Africa (which will form 40% of the world’s population by the end of this century); (ii) rapidly train this talent to meet market demands and reduce the shortage of available technology talent and (iii) build a large-scale, B2B staffing business to outsource this talent to global companies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Mid-Level Data Analyst at Sand Technologies, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that require a strong foundation in data analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and transform raw data into actionable insights. We are seeking an analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering valuable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis and Exploration:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Utilize statistical methods and advanced analytics to extract meaningful insights.
• Data Visualization and Reporting:
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reports to communicate findings effectively.
  • Present data-driven insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Hypothesis Testing and Experimentation:
  • Perform hypothesis testing and A/B testing to support decision-making and drive experimentation initiatives.
• Data Interpretation:
  • Translate complex data findings into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business units to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor performance.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging data analysis tools and technologies.
  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a data analysis role, with a track record of delivering insights.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools like SQL, Python, DBT, or similar. (Javascript is a plus)
• Strong data visualization skills using tools such as QuickSight, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of statistical concepts and hypothesis testing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a logical approach to data analysis.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities to convey complex findings effectively.
• Ability to collaborate within a team and independently manage projects.
• Experience with big data technologies and machine learning is advantageous.
