ABOUT THE FINANCE TEAM

Our finance team plays a pivotal role in the success and growth of our organization. Comprising dedicated professionals with a keen eye for financial strategy, analysis, and compliance, we drive the financial health of the company. From budgeting and forecasting to supporting M&As, managing cash flows and ensuring regulatory compliance, our team is committed to making sound financial decisions that support our business objectives. We work collaboratively to provide timely and accurate financial information, enabling data-driven decision-making and contributing to the achievement of our company's goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Your responsibilities will include among others:

  • Accounting Oversight:

    • Direct and oversee basic accounting tasks, including the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and financial statements.
    • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all financial records and reports.
    • Maintain a healthy status for accounts receivable and payable, optimizing cash flow and working capital management.
  • Financial Controls:

    • Establish and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and maintain the integrity of financial transactions.
    • Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to guide company operations.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and manage financial risks that could impact the company's financial health.
    • Implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure the organization is prepared for internal and external audits.
  • Policy Development:

    • Define and implement financial policies, such as procurement policy, expense management, and other relevant financial guidelines.
    • Ensure that company policies align with best practices and compliance requirements.
    • Implement strategies to minimize late payments and optimize supplier relationships.
  • Audit Management:

    • Manage the annual audit process, collaborating with external auditors to facilitate a smooth and efficient audit.
    • Prepare all necessary documentation and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a professional accounting designation, either as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification

  • Must be located in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) timezone, and demonstrate a track record of working in a global business environment, with experience spanning multiple regions and time zones.

  • +8 years of combined experience in one (or a combination of) the following:

    • Big 4 Accounting Firm: A minimum of 3-4 years' experience working in a senior role at a Big 4 accounting firm, with a deep understanding of auditing and financial compliance.
    • Venture-Backed High-Scale Company: At least 4-5 years of experience in a financial leadership role within a venture-backed high-scale company, demonstrating a strong understanding of dynamic financial environments and growth-oriented strategies.
  • Accounting Proficiency: Profound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices, including financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

  • Risk Management: A solid understanding of risk management practices and strategies, with a proven ability to identify and mitigate financial risks effectively.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations, reporting requirements, and industry-specific compliance standards.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.

  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, with a track record of maintaining accurate and compliant financial records.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management abilities to lead the finance team effectively and foster a culture of excellence.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Adaptability: A willingness to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing financial environment, effectively managing challenges and change.

  • Team Player: A collaborative and team-oriented approach to work, with a focus on building strong working relationships across the organization.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific trends and best practices, especially within the venture-backed high-scale company environment.
