ABOUT THE ALX SOFTWARE ENGINEERING PROGRAM TEAM

The ALX SE Team excels in creating and delivering Software Engineering programs designed to equip tech enthusiasts with essential skills for starting or advancing in tech careers. Our responsibilities extend beyond program delivery; we're involved in curriculum development, community management, program coordination, and learner management, as well as organizing events and workshops. Our flagship offerings include a 12-month comprehensive program and a 4-month introductory course in software development, collectively known as the ALX SE program. Proudly, we've graduated over 3,500 learners, significantly contributing to the development of tech talent.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated, hardworking, and organized individual to join our team to continue amplifying learners’ voices and work and be dedicated to their success through our initiative, Faces of ALX SE (FOASE). The ideal candidate will have experience in digital marketing, project management, content creation and curation. The candidate must also demonstrate passion for education and Learners’’ success, as well as a good understanding of the technology industry and African culture.

More specifically your role will include:

  • Manage and maintain the Faces of ALX SE social media platforms. The scope of work includes but is not limited to:
  • Creating and posting content that resonates with the ALX Software Engineering Program community.
  • Posting a minimum of four (4) times per week on the Accounts.
  • Engaging with comments and messages from the community.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the performance of posts, including views, likes, shares, and comments.
  • Collaborating with the learners, internal and external teams to ensure the content aligns with the program's goals and values.
  • Make sure everything learners do and create is amplified so that everyone knows about them and what they are capable of
  • Interview learners and create multimedia content, blog posts and learners' success stories i.e. blog post, social media posts, podcast content etc.
  • Place learners' content i.e. articles from learners on external tech publications and blogs
  • Place learners to talk at events, meetups, conferences etc.
  • Regular Twitter and multichannel live discussions on different topics with learners and industry experts
  • Track the projects that have been built by learners to be documented and amplified on FOASE platforms.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure FOASE milestones are met.
  • Develop and implement project management processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Talk to and survey learners to come up with new ideas, features and projects.

REQUIREMENTS:.

  • Demonstrates relentless execution, resourcefulness, and delivering results in challenging situations (a.k.a, you get sh*t done).
  • Takes ownership.
  • Extensive experience in digital marketing and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and executing content marketing strategies that drive engagement and increase brand awareness.
  • Strong social media skills, including experience managing social media accounts, organizing Twitter lives, and engaging with followers.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to handle pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling blog posts, success stories, and other marketing content.
  • Experience coaching and placing speakers at events, meetups, and conferences.
  • Strong customer-focused approach with the ability to talk to and survey learners to develop new ideas, features, and projects.
  • Curious about technology and software engineeringStrong ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality.
  • Flexibility in work schedule (job requires to speak with the team from all over the world).
